16ème édition du Festival Millenium

Depuis ses débuts, le Festival Millenium a été mu par la volonté de rencontrer le réel dans toute son ampleur, en profondeur et de manière multi-dimensionnelle.Les films de cette 16ème édition démontrent la puissance transformatrice de l’art documentaire à travers des protagonistes, qui, transcendant les épreuves, déploient une force morale inspirante et opèrent une métamorphose salvatrice tant pour eux-mêmes que pour leur environnement immédiat.

EN / Sustainable Development Goals: where are we? All countries suscribed to the 17 SDGs in 2015, aspiring to a world without extreme poverty, with women equality, with decent jobs and sustainable growth, with reduced inequalities, within a sustainable planet. Unfortunately the world is off track to reach these goals by 2030. At current pace, for instance, in order to close the gender gap, from 53 to 189 years would be needed (depending on geographic regions).Achieving the necessary institutional, policy, financing, technological transformative changes is not the exclusive responsibility of individual governments. It requires rebuilding trust in the multilateral global architecture as well as more engagement from the private sector and from civil society, academic and scientific institutions and indeed from all citizens.

NL / Vanaf het begin is het Millenium Festival gedreven door het verlangen om de werkelijkheid in al haar breedte, diepte en multidimensionaliteit te ervaren. De films van deze 16e editie laten de transformerende kracht van documentairekunst zien aan de hand van protagonisten die over hun beproevingen heen een inspirerende morele kracht inzetten en een verlossende metamorfose teweegbrengen, zowel voor henzelf als voor hun naaste omgeving.
